"Undoing Racism Day" annual event
The CommUNITY Breakfast "Undoing Racism Day" was begun in 2011 as a community-led Unity Breakfast organized by an all-volunteer steering committee. Similar to the prior and successful Radnor Township effort which occurred each September from 2001 through 2008, steering committee members from the greater Main Line area organize each year's event, with each attendee paying for his/her own meal. The CommUNITY Breakfast creates a space where we can gather to celebrate unity while “embracing the difference.” We share a meal, risk hospitality, dialogue with each other and learn.
In late 2018 the steering committee of the CommUNITY Breakfast created the CommUNITY Breakfast Collaborative, which is now a nonprofit 501(c)(3). Its board of directors is staffed mostly by longtime steering committee members.
